I did two tours on the Sierra. I enjoyed the first tour so much I reenlisted if they would let me go back. I flew into Diego Garcia in 1982 and 1985 to meet the ship. The first time the island was pretty bad with not too much to do. The second time they were making improvements. The Navy Exchange actually opened a fast food place called McDiego Burger!
