Sierra was my 1st ship out of boot camp. (1966-1968 & 1970) I worked in the metal shop as a Shipffiter. I still can't believe that my first job was washing artificial flowers on the mess dacks as a mess cook. I asked myself now just what did I get myself into. Well after 23 years I finally decided to retire. I hated the pier head sentry watchs at mid night. the late sailors woke m eup on thier return from the STRIP. Best Regards Al Abram (ABE) HTC (SW)
