I was just thinking of the day's I was on the Sierra with my brother, while still in boot camp I requested to be sent to the Sierra so I could be with my big brother, I was 17 years old at that time in 1956. My brother was already and was a second class petty officer in the optical division and I was on the deck force. They were fine times on the Sierra, it was my first time away from home and it was nice to be with my brother, he was in the Navy 21 years and i was in for 4 years. I'm now 70 years old and the only thing I have left are the memories, thank God for them, surely there was so much more respect for the United States of America then today. I love my country and it's flag, I feel so sad that at one time we could control the world but today we can't even control our borders. I was born and lived my life in New York, (Brooklyn), I thank God I lived in the good times in the good old USA.
